The second Munich Economic Summit will take place on 2-3 May in Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Some 120 high-ranking international decision-makers in business and politics will discuss the topic Europe in the Global Economy: Matching the US?

Among the main speakers are Bavarian Minister President, Edmund Stoiber, the President of the Czech Republic, Václav Klaus, and Hungary’s Prime Minister, Peter Medgyessy, as well as prominent personalities such as the economics Nobel Prize laureate, James J. Heckman, the Vice-President of the European Central Bank, Lucas Papademos, and the Deputy Head of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group, Friedrich Merz.

The Munich Economic Summit (MES) is organised by CESifo, a joint initiative of the Ludwig Maximilian University and the Ifo Institute for Economic Research, and the BMW Stiftung Herbert Quandt . This year the media will be able to follow the proceedings from the press gallery located inside the conference hall. The adjacent media centre will offer the necessary infrastructure to facilitate reporting.
