The Munich Economic Summit is a joint initiative of CESifo
— the international platform of Munich University's Center for Economic Studies and the Ifo Institute for Economic Research — and the BMW Stiftung Herbert Quandt.

The 2003 Summit, held on May 2-3, focused on Europe in the global economy, discussing approaches and solutions to the current crisis in capital markets, the new trade negotiations and the general European economic performance.
